Laura Garzone: Shapes of Earth

Shapes of Earth

Laura Garzone

Shapes of Earth includes two pieces of furniture; a loveseat and a coffee table. Using sustainable material such as recycled content board, I was inspired to imitate the beautiful Wyoming canyons I saw on my first trip out west. Using methods of digital fabrication, I layered numerous abstractly shaped slices of material to resemble geological forms. By making furniture from reused material, I represent how recycled everyday objects can be given a new and functional life. My furniture combines my love of nature and the environment with my passion for design.
