Kylie Rosenbloom: Oily

Kylie Rosenbloom

/_oilē/ adj. bizarre or eccentric; unusual or unexpected, especially in a sexual manner.

The transformation of mass published magazine photographs into oil paintings draws a parallel between classic paintings featuring nude women, and the pop culture images we see today.

While the classic paintings are highly regarded, the photographs are widely criticized even though they share similar imagery. Oily challenges the viewer to shift this perspective.
