Cut from the Same Cloth
I purchased this blouse in 2014, but have not worn it since Trump’s June 16, 2015, presidential announcement speech where he referred to Mexican immigrants as “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” Since then, Trump has continued to demonstrate strong ties to white supremacy and is the first U.S. President to be endorsed by the KKK’s official newspaper. On October 11, 2016, the #GrabYourWallet campaign launched on Twitter, encouraging shoppers to boycott products and retailers that sell Trump goods. In early 2017, large retailers dropped Ivanka’s clothing line from their stores. In response, multiple members of the Trump administration, including the President, publicly endorsed Ivanka and criticized the retailers. Ivanka has since then become an official employee of the Trump administration.
