“but…it’s a banana.”
Kelly Hartigan Goldstein
Ever curious and easily amused, emerging Laguna Beach painter Kelly Hartigan Goldstein finds fascination in everyday observations. Currently focusing on still life composition, she challenges her objects to come forward on their own, inspiring a perspective typically unseen. The familiar and ordinary can disappear into the fabric of everyday experience. The incessant and instinctive scanning for the new and different further blinds us to what we reliably encounter. Sometimes a pause, a moment of true attention, a meditation on the ordinary can honestly provide insight and appreciation for who we are and what we choose to see.
