2017 Alumni Exhibition: Ambiguities/Innuendoes? Go Fish.
Each year, Stamps School alums reconnect and share new developments in their creative practice through the school’s annual juried alumni exhibition.
Organized by a committee of dedicated alums led by co-chairs Matt Zivich (BDes ’60), Kris Peterson (BFA ’87), and DuWaine Hoy (BSDes ’60), this year’s exhibition is entitled Ambiguities/Innuendoes? Go Fish. On view in the new downtown Ann Arbor Stamps Gallery (201 S. Division St.), the exhibition is juried by Brian Kennedy, President, Director, and CEO of the Toledo Museum of Art.
“The Stamps Alumni show has had a distinguished history and it is an honor to be invited to be the juror for the show,” Kennedy stated. “The 2017 Stamps Alumni Juried Exhibition has the theme Ambiguities/Innuendoes? Go Fish. This intriguing and suggestive proposal has elicited a broad range of responses from many alumni of the Penny Stamps School of Art & Design. Visitors can look forward to a stimulating, provocative, and aesthetically far reaching series of engagements with the theme of ambiguity and innuendo, a very contemporary theme whether one considers it from the point of view of gender, climate, politics, sciences, or arts.”
Kennedy selected three grand prize recipients (awarded $500 each).
