This short course guides begin­ning stu­dents through the basics of web design. Top­ics cov­ered include graphic lay­out, func­tion­al­ity, and inter­ac­tiv­ity along with prepar­ing assets and main­tain­ing direc­tory struc­tures. In the process of build­ing their own web­sites, stu­dents learn to select and set up a host­ing provider and search engine opti­miza­tion. This course teaches essen­tial web design skills, pro­vides tech­ni­cal sup­port and resources, and encour­ages con­tin­ued devel­op­ment beyond the class­room. FRE­QUENCY OF OFFER­ING: This course is typ­i­cally offered in both the fall and win­ter terms of every aca­d­e­mic year, though sched­ul­ing may vary accord­ing to future term circumstances.
