Stu­dents learn the jew­elry and met­al­smithing tech­niques to cre­ate their own jew­elry and small metal objects. Design­ing, saw­ing, pierc­ing, sol­der­ing, form­ing, stone set­ting and fin­ish­ing are cov­ered in this course. Empha­sis is placed on mas­ter­ing craft, solv­ing prob­lems, and devel­op­ing inno­v­a­tive designs. Stu­dents will have 24-hour access to the stu­dio and will need to work out­side of class to com­plete the course work. FRE­QUENCY OF OFFER­ING: This course is typ­i­cally offered in both the fall and win­ter terms of every aca­d­e­mic year, though sched­ul­ing may vary accord­ing to future term circumstances.
