Prerequisites: All OF THE FOLLOWING: ARTDES 255: Intro to Photography.
This studio course focuses on producing, studying, and discussing photographic works and processes by artists who explore issues of gender, sexuality, race, and other politically charged or marginalized identities and perspectives. Assigned readings, discussions, films and image lectures encourage visual thinking about issues that challenge conventional art and photographic traditions, diverse audiences, nontraditional venues and other concepts as they allow latitude for creating politically and socially inspired photographic works.
