Prerequisites: All OF THE FOLLOWING: ARTDES 265: Intro to Video: Digital Cinematography & Editing.
Video cameras can be powerful, socially engaged, diaristic tools for documenting time-based experiences of self and/or others. Course projects incorporate personal reflection, questioning, poetry, sequencing and/or critique within contextual footage that gives depth and/or social relevance to chosen subjects. Assigned readings, films and critical discussions expand students’ knowledge of contemporary artists’ film/video work and provide conceptual suggestions and technical information for students’ work in progress.
