Prerequisites: All OF THE FOLLOWING: ARTDES 265: Intro to Video: Digital Cinematography & Editing.

Description: Video cameras can be powerful, socially engaged, diaristic tools for documenting time-based experiences of self and/​or others. Course projects incorporate personal reflection, questioning, poetry, sequencing and/​or critique within contextual footage that gives depth and/​or social relevance to chosen subjects. Assigned readings, films and critical discussions expand students’ knowledge of contemporary artists’ film/​video work and provide conceptual suggestions and technical information for students’ work in progress.

Frequency: This course is typically offered in the fall term of even-numbered years, though scheduling may vary according to future term circumstances.
