Advising at Stamps
The Stamps School’s approach to academic advising is a process-based, ongoing experience custom-built to match our non-traditional, interdisciplinary curriculum.
Our personal approach ensures that you can have confidence and resources you need to forge your own curricular path, finding greater clarity in thought and purpose as your creative identity emerges. Over the course of your Stamps education, you will meet regularly with your assigned advisor a total of six times. In your junior year, as part of your professional development you will be ready to seek advice from the seasoned professionals in the university community by naming two faculty mentors (at least one will be a Stamps faculty member). Together, your advisor and faculty mentors will coach you on the following:
- Your individualized program of study
- Your career trajectory
- The development of your creative practice as an artist/designer
To prepare for your advising appointments, take some time to get a birds-eye view of your Stamps experience with our web app, the Curriculum Designer. See the Stamps Undergraduate Handbook for a full advising schedule.
