Biography

Jennifer Metsker's poetry has been published in many journals including The Southern Review, The Michigan Quarterly Review, Sycamore Review, The Cincinnati Review, Cimarron Review, Dunes Review, Gulf Coast, alice blue review, The Seattle Review, Whiskey Island Review, and many other journals. She also has poetry forthcoming in in Rhino, Cream City Review, Nightblock, and Banango Street. She has had a poem featured on the Verse Daily and has been nominated twice for a Pushcart Prize. Her essay “How I Became an Angel,” will be coming out in May 2016 in the anthology Show Me All Your Scars by In Fact Books. She also writes art reviews and essays on visual art for various publications, including Carbon Culture and Art Hopper. She has won many awards for her writing including an Academy of American Poets Prize and a Marjorie Rappaport Prize for New and Unusual Verse as well as a Avery Hopwood Awards in both poetry and non-fiction.
