Susan Crowell Exhibits at NCECA in Providence

In March 2015, Susan Crowell (BFA 1969, MFA 1972) will exhibit her work at the National Conference in Education in the Ceramic Arts in Providence, Rhode Island. The exhibition, titled Botanica Ceramica: Large Scale Sculpture Under Glass,” will take place from March 12 – 19, with a reception on March 27th from 4:30 until 7:30.

Curated by RISD faculty member Kate Blacklock, the exhibition features large scale and site specific sculpture installed in the glass conservatories of the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center. Crowell, who has worked for the past five years on issues of bee decline and agriculture, will present Dionaea,” a group of nine hanging sculptures based on the pollen forms of the Venus Flytrap.

The Roger Williams Park Botanical Center is located at 1000 Elmwood Avenue in Providence. Open hours are 10 – 4, with extended hours on March 25 and 28.
