Seeking Submissions: Exploring Identities

Exploringidentities

Can a photograph capture the real you”?

Each day we present ourselves to others, constructing our identity through choices about how we speak, dress, or act. We are also affected by the interpretations of others, and can choose to connect with or challenge these interpretations.

Exploring Identities is an ongoing participatory project in which the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA) is inviting U‑M students to explore the ways that our identities are pictured and crafted through various creative media. We have provided an open forum for everyone to upload their photos and videos that capture images of themselves, others, and/or their creative works that respond to these ideas. We invite you to take full creative freedom in interpreting identity.”

Submissions will be accepted and displayed online and at the University of Michigan Museum of Art throughout winter semester.
