Faculty Discuss Holly Hughes’s Latest Book

The Institute for Research on Women and Gender presents a discussion of Holly Hughes’s most recent book, Animal Acts: Performing Species Today.

The book, co-edited by Una Chaudhuri and published by the University of Michigan Press, contains animal themed performance texts by artists including Hughes, alumn Joseph Keckler, and others accompanied by commentaries from leading scholars in the fields of animal and performance studies such as Donna Haraway, Jill Dolan, and Cary Wolfe.

Panelists include Hughes, Stamps Associate Professor Irina Aristarkova, Larry LaFontaine, Associate Professor of American Culture and Clare Croft, Assistant Professor of Dance.
