Things, not objects
Jong Hoon Kim
“Things, not objects” is a series of four kinds of handmade leather goods made from Buttero vegetable tanned cow leather that capture the inherent warmth produced by handmade leather craft. Because Buttero is an entirely organic material, it will change over time, acquiring a distinctive patina depending on its use, which will allow these products to differentiate themselves from manufactured products and develop unique emotional connection with the users. Through the minimalistic design, my leather goods capture the natural characteristic of material, and weave the material's character with the user's character, thus endowing distinctive uniqueness to each products.
