Shayna Brown: Can We Live?

Can We Live?

Shayna Brown

Can We Live? is about showing the impact that African Americans have had on American society through acknowledging unrecognized African American inventors. Too often the narrative about African Americans is negative and/or stereotypical and too often the only and most famous black role models are actors, actresses, singers, musicians, and athletes. Blacks are rarely shown as resourceful or innovative or intelligent. By choosing black inventors, the narrative of all that African Americans are and can be begins to open.
