Freelance Designer Needed

A group of MBAs from the Ross School of Business has started a Digital Signage company.  We need a talented and creative resource who’s proficient with Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

Our group needs promotional materials, (pamphlets, brochures, banners) to promote our products/services and other image creation as well.

Photographers Needed

The University of Michigan Law School is looking for a team of talented photographers to shoot events, portraits and other various assignments. Flexible schedule, part time, 2 to 20 hours per week. Work study preferred but not required. Must have good photography skills, good eye, Photoshop skills, prompt with email and communication, and detail oriented. Personable and people-skills also very helpful.

Job Requirements: Previous experience photographing events and portraits.

Work positions available in the Stamps Print Media’s Computer Lab

Applicants must be available for one of the following shifts:

Mon-Wed: 8:00am-11:30am
Mon-Wed: 11:30am-1:30pm
Mon-Wed: 1:30pm-5:00pm
Mon-Wed: 6:00pm-10:00pm

Tue-Thu:  8:00am-11:30am
Tue-Thu:  11:30am-1:30pm
Tue-Thu:  1:30pm-5:00pm
Tue-Thu:  6:00pm-10:00pm

Fri:        8:00am-11:00am
Fri:        11:00am-2:00pm
Fri:        2:00pm-5:00pm

The student should be familiar with Photoshop software. All other training will be provided. Duties include assisting Stamps students using the Epson inkjet printers in the lab to print their assignments following suggested procedures. Other tasks include maintaining equipment in the lab (change inkjet cartridges as needed, perform cleaning-cycles on printers, etc) and providing assistance to the coordinator where needed.  All training for expected tasks will be provided by the coordinator.

Payrate is $10/hr.

Paramodel Workshop Call for Participation

Paramodel is an art collaborative that creates immersive environments out of mass-produced toys and brilliant blue plastic train tracks with their meticulous design skills. For UMMA’s upcoming exhibition, Paramodel will create an installation derived from their most famous series, paramodelic-graffiti. We invite you to join one of the Paramodel artists Yasuhiko Hayashi to create your own site-specific installation of fantastical design with a team using vibrant blue track during UMMA’s Artscapade event on Friday, August 29th from 8-11 pm.

Information Graphic (Paid) Internship
National Geographic magazine is seeking a talented intern to assist with the production of art and information graphics. The intern will work closely with graphics editors while gaining insight into the development and production of graphics for the magazine and online.

Desired Experience:
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT), or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign), or video editing programs.
Familiarity with Mac and PC platforms
Teaching, tutoring, and/or customer service experience

As an instruction Technology consultant, you’ll be responsible for:
Staffing a service point in the Graduate Library and/or Shapiro Library.
Consulting with students, faculty, and staff as they learn technologies related to teaching and learning.
Assisting people with scanning, video editing, and poster printing equipment.
Other projects as assigned.

Starting Pay Rate: $10.95/hour

Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park Internship

August 7, 2014

Description:  Assist in the responsibilities for sculpture conservation and maintenance projects as assigned by the Assistant Curator of Collections/Conservator or the Assistant Conservator.  Of primary consideration are the cleaning and maintenance of works in the permanent collection or on temporary display. General assistance with the temporary exhibition program is also of importance.

This position begins September 22nd with the possibility, based on job performance, of being extended though the winter/spring semester. 

This position is 20 hours per week @ $10.00 per hour and is open to art and art history majors from the colleges and universities in West Michigan.
