Pioneer Works is a not-for-profit platform for innovation in contemporary arts and an incubator for cross-disciplinary collaboration. Our brick and timber building in Red Hook, Brooklyn houses exhibitions, performing arts, classes, lectures, art and science residencies & publications. Our diverse programming is designed to support cultural innovators and engage our community in productive dialogues. Emphasizing multi-disciplinary experimentation, artists, scientists & visitors collaborate to produce creative work and social change.

Commission Mural Painting

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS: Community Mural Project

Jasper Community Arts is currently accepting proposals from artists interested in creating a commissioned publicnexterior art mural in the city of Jasper, Indiana. The Mural Committee will review proposals and make a recommendation to the Jasper Community Arts Board of Commissioners.

MURAL PROJECT:

Design Fellowship at the Walker

The Walker is pleased to announce that its 2015–16 Mildred Friedman Design Fellowship is now open for application.

Ideal candidates will be firmly grounded in visual design principles and the print design process with some experience in interaction design. In addition to print-based projects such as exhibition identities, wayfinding, and collateral materials, this year’s fellow will also work on select online publishing initiatives.

Digital and Photography Area Teaching Assistant for AY 2015/2016

This yearlong position is designed for students who seek advanced experience in digital art and/or photography and have already completed an undergraduate degree (either a BA or BFA in art).  These students enter the program with the intent of strengthening their portfolios for application to graduate school or to refine their skills and qualifications for other professional positions. Assistants work under the guidance of a faculty member, participate in departmental critiques, and assist the Department of Art and Design in a number of ways.

Freelance Art Opportunity with Sneakers by Jordana

Sneakers by Jordana is a line of custom and themed sneakers designed personally for each customer. Our custom shoes are one of a kind and unique, and each design is thought out and hand crafted specifically for the customer. We connect with our customers to understand who they are and what they are thinking so we can create a sneaker that brings their ideas to life.

We are looking for part-time artists who will be living in New York City this summer with advanced drawing skills that can help draw and color our designs.  We pay by the shoe and prices will be negotiated with each artist. Part Time Designer Needed

Quack Media is seeking a part time designer with the potential to grow into full-time.

We are looking for a production designer to help us out for about 15 hours a week (some weeks closer to 20 hours, maybe more if we get even busier). The position is in-house and would involve laying out or resizing ads, editing or searching for photos, laying out RFPs in InDesign, etc.

Pay is $10 an hour and we are seeking a recent graduate or rising senior. We need this person to start ASAP

Color and Materials Designer for Ford

Color and Materials Designers are tasked with setting the vision for the development and coordination of interior and exterior color and materials design for Ford and Lincoln vehicle programs.  Designers follow the development of color and materials from concept through approval and must coordinate the release of master samples.  Designers are expected to be able to evaluate color, texture, gloss and finishes and work with suppliers as necessary.  Designers are required to maintain an awareness of developments in related fields, i.e. furniture, fashion, architecture design, and apply that knowledge to automotive design.  Color and Materials Designer candidates must provide a portfolio that demonstrates creativity, a strong understanding of colors and materials, design and trend leadership, brand awareness, production experience, and multi-tasking ability.

Curator of Arts & Exhibits at Studio 23/The Arts Center

At Studio 23/The Arts Center our team is passionate about creating positive experiences in the Great Lakes Bay Regional community through interactive art education, community outreach, support of artists, and exposure to the visual arts.

The ideal candidate will possess a sense of adventure and creativity with a sophisticated understanding of art, design, and gallery curatorial principals and practices. He/She would conduct original research, negotiate with artists, develop and present new exhibitions and projects, supervise, install, light and all related duties including maintenance such as ensuring that all walls are repaired. Produce publicity for Gallery exhibits with marketing. Represent the Gallery at public, and cultivation events in order to build bridges between the gallery and other art entities in the Great Lakes Bay Region.

ART IN THE SKY!

There’s a 500,000-gallon steel water tower in Ann Arbor that needs a fresh coat of paint, and the city has decided to make it into a public art contest.

The city is now calling on artists and students to submit ideas for “art in the sky” that could be chosen to adorn the water tower off Washtenaw Avenue.

The contest is free to enter and open to Ann Arbor residents and students living in Ann Arbor. The deadline to enter is June 1.

The winner will receive $500 and will have his or her design placed 150 feet in the air for all to see.
