Anti-Human Trafficking Exhibit Call for Art

“Price of Life: Setting the Captives Free” is a student organized exhibition with the intention of educating and raising awareness about the issue of human-trafficking.  If you are passionate about human rights, consider submitting your work!  We are looking for work with themes of freedom, bondage, humanity, and hope.

Please submit your work to Mary Dudek by Wednesday, October 15th.

The show goes up in the Stamps Street Gallery on October 19th.

Great Part Time Job with Michigan Telefund

Want to gain skills that would help you to market yourself as an artist or designer, or help you to better communicate with clients? Work at Michigan Telefund, the student fundraising call center on campus, which fundraises on behalf of Michigan students!

As a Student Fundraiser, you will contact alumni and friends of the University, engage in great conversations, and raise funds. Through work at Telefund, you can gain valuable transferable skills that will help you to become a better candidate for creative career paths.

Sneakers by Jordana is a line of custom and themed sneakers designed personally for each customer. Our custom shoes are one of a kind and unique, and each design is thought out and hand crafted specifically for the customer. Crushed Ivory Challenge

September 15, 2014

Elephant poaching is at its highest level in decades and it continues to rise. More than 35,000 elephant were killed in 2013 for the illegal ivory trade. These animals are being slaughtered across Africa to meet an insatiable global demand for ivory. Scores of the park rangers who work to protect them have also been killed.

We’re asking for your help in turning the crushed ivory into educational tools that can be distributed around the country. Through this pro-bono design challenge, you have the opportunity to create a compelling, thought provoking, informative and impactful display to increase awareness about our fight against illegal wildlife trade.

The Seligmann Center, welcomes submissions for its upcoming exhibition, Magical Events: A Small Works Exhibition, on view November 14-January 3.  Artists are invited to submit two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of any medium. There is no width restriction, however works may not exceed 10” in height or depth, including frames and peripheral elements.  The exhibition will occupy two galleries on the Seligmann Center property: Seligmann’s Studio and Foyer Gallery, located in the converted barn and farmhouse.  Submission deadline: Friday, October 3.
