Internship with Vayu

August 29, 2014

Vayu designs and manufactures autonomous aerial vehicles for the transport of goods over difficult terrain. Vayu’s first UAV product is designed to meet the needs of customers in these regions and will operate with a 60km range, 2kg payload, vertical take off and landing (VTOL) capability (obviating the need for external infrastructure), and autonomous flight.

The ideal graphic candidate has a passion for Vayu’s mission. Candidates should be able to design within an established brand identity system, while pushing the direction forward.

Interns work with various graphic design projects that arise throughout the duration of their internship including, but not limited to: designing brochures, product design, info-graphics, and visual graphics.

Qualified candidates will possess knowledge of basic graphic design principals. Knowledge of web design and development is preferred. The Women’s Basketball team at the University of Michigan is looking for student managers / video assistants for the upcoming 2014-15 season. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: video breakdown, filming of practice and games, assisting in highlight films, assisting in film exchange, assisting in recording games, practice set up and breakdown, clock operation, game day preparation, traveling with the team, and administrative assistance.  Hours will vary from week to week and will be subject to the student’s schedule.  We are looking for enthusiastic and high energy students that are passionate about the game of basketball. 

This is a great opportunity for experience in the sport industry and will help you grow as a professional.

Artist in “Residence” for UMS 2014-15 Season

Video Expert Needed for Promo Trailer

Joyce Desilerres is working to create a promo trailer for a new DIY type show.  The central character needs to be filmed in her shop, in her kitchen and at related stores like Joann Fabrics and Whole Foods.

Expertise with camera, lighting and editing is needed.

Work Study positions available in the Stamps Sculpture Studio

The Sculpture Studio is seeking to fill multiple studio monitor/ assistant positions for Fall 2014.  Primary responsibilities include safety monitoring of studio users, cleaning, tool maintenance, building studio fixtures,  etc.  Secondary responsibilities include assisting and advising student users and faculty. 

Students should have a working knowledge of the sculpture studio, woodshop and or metal shop.  Industrial Design, Digital fabrication and prototyping experience a plus.
Training provided

Payrate is $10/hr.

Gallery attendants must have work study awards and will be working part time.  Those with an interest in, or have an aptitude for, exhibitions are encouraged to apply.

Photographers Needed

The University of Michigan Law School is looking for a team of talented photographers to shoot events, portraits and other various assignments. Flexible schedule, part time, 2 to 20 hours per week. Work study preferred but not required. Must have good photography skills, good eye, Photoshop skills, prompt with email and communication, and detail oriented. Personable and people-skills also very helpful.

Job Requirements: Previous experience photographing events and portraits.

Work positions available in the Stamps Print Media’s Computer Lab

Applicants must be available for one of the following shifts:

Mon-Wed: 8:00am-11:30am
Mon-Wed: 11:30am-1:30pm

Mon-Wed: 6:00pm-10:00pm

The student should be familiar with Photoshop software. All other training will be provided. Duties include assisting Stamps students using the Epson inkjet printers in the lab to print their assignments following suggested procedures. Other tasks include maintaining equipment in the lab (change inkjet cartridges as needed, perform cleaning-cycles on printers, etc) and providing assistance to the coordinator where needed.  All training for expected tasks will be provided by the coordinator.

Payrate is $10/hr.
