Armed Services Arts Partnership National Program Manager

The National Program Manager will play an instrumental role in shaping the future programmatic growth of ASAP. Technician/Assistant For Adrian College Art Department

This position involves frequent verbal, written and e-mail correspondence with faculty, staff, and students. The
successful candidate will:

-Assist with maintenance of studio equipment including a ceramics studio, firing gas, electric, and wood
kilns, a small wood shop, and printmaking studio

-Maintain and replace equipment, inventory and supplies

-Supervise student workers and interns and interact with/mentor students on a daily basis Fabricate and design specialized equipment and aid students in the proper use of equipment

-Develop relationships with vendors and contractors

-Participate in the development of departmental safety expectations and ensure compliance with the EPA

-Perform other duties as assigned

Freelance Graphic Design for new Theatre Group

July 28, 2016

Graphic design for theatre production of “Brahman/i: A One-Hijra Stand Up Comedy Show” by Aditi Brennan Kapil.  Written as an extended stand-up comedy routine, the play uses humor and wit to explore the dualities faced by an intersex person of Indian descent growing up and living in America. Production dates are November 4-20.

Needed: design for the show poster, program, and digital marketing materials, but as long as the designer is willing to share the source file, we can manipulate the design for all the different purposes.

Compensation involved:

Although we are a new non-profit, we do believe in compensation for creative work so we can offer 6 complimentary tickets ($120 value) to the show, credit in show program, on the theatre’s website and social media.

Exhibition Opportunities

Digital Fabrication Studio Monitor

The primary supervisor for this position is the Digital Fabrication Studio Coordinator. The Digital Fabrication Studio Monitor may be asked to report to other Studio Coordinators as needed.


Assist the Coordinator with the use and maintenance of the Digital Fabrication Studio, assist students with the use of the studio, perform machine orientations, in some cases, run machines for students/faculty.

Student Ambassador Program for The Ark

The Ark, a nonprofit music venue in downtown Ann Arbor, is looking for passionate, outgoing, creative, and responsible students to join their new student ambassador program. The goal of the program is to increase public awareness, contact, and engagement with University of Michigan students with The Ark. To that end, students will gain valuable experience in marketing, social media, event planning, nonprofits and more. Estimated weekly time commitment is 5 hours/week and the program commitment is for the fall and winter semesters.

826michigan, a local non-profit organization, is looking for interns for the fall of 2016! 

826michigan is a creative writing and tutoring center, headquartered behind the Liberty Street Robot Supply & Repair storefront (both owned and operated by 826) in Ann Arbor and are getting ready to open our second space in the Eastern Market neighborhood in Detroit. We provide after-school tutoring, creative writing workshops, field trips, in-school assistance, and more to local students ages 6-18.

We are seeking individuals who are looking for a meaningful internship and/or volunteer experience in the non-profit world and have an interest in creative writing, teaching, youth development, fundraising, marketing, editing, event planning, research, program evaluation, and/or business administration.

Our past interns and volunteers have found this a great learning and experience-building opportunity, and many have gone on to work in various fields including education, non-profit management, business, and more!

Description: High Desert Test Sites (non-profit arts organization) and A-Z West (Andrea Zittel’s compound/testing grounds for experimental designs in living) is looking to fulfill a part-time, one-year long rotating position. This position would be perfect for recent, mature, BFA graduate or an artist looking for a year long experience in the high desert. We are looking for articulate, hard working, highly organized, outgoing, competent and hardy individuals.  Duties includes everything from hard outdoor labor, to housekeeping, to communicating with residents and visitors.  Our ideal candidate would find cleaning therapeutic, not demoralizing.  An outgoing personality would be helpful as A-Z West tends to be a very active social environment. Content Development Internship

This internship is an opportunity for students to get practical, real life experience developing a social media presence for a fashion, gift and home design business in Dexter, MI. We are looking for a student with a unique sense of design and a strong passion for engaging with others online in a professional and helpful manner. The ideal candidate would be an excellent communicator with an interest in pursuing a communication/marketing career in design or fashion industries, and an eagerness to expand their professional experience. The Content Development intern will design and curate a new website, Facebook Page and Pinterest site. In the school year, the Intern will maintain our online and social media presence, generate external media press releases and manage blog style posts about design and fashion.

The position will be for the summer with an opportunity for extension through the 2016/17 school year to be evaluated start of fall term.

Work Study positions available in the Stamps Sculpture Studio & New Metals Shop

The Sculpture Studio is seeking to fill multiple studio monitor/ assistant positions for Fall 2016.  Primary responsibilities include safety monitoring of studio users, cleaning, tool maintenance, building studio fixtures,  etc.

Secondary responsibilities include assisting and advising students users and faculty. 
Students should have a working knowledge of the sculpture studio or metals studio.  Industrial Design, Digital fabrication and prototyping experience a plus.


Pay rate is $10/hr.
